Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Connect antenna or cable: Attach coaxial cable to ANTENNA IN connector on rear panel.
  2. Connect to TV: Use HDMI cable for best quality, or AV cables (red/white/yellow) to TV input.
  3. Connect audio system: Use digital optical or coaxial audio output for surround sound.
  4. Plug power cord into AC outlet.

WARNING! Device is heavy; use proper lifting techniques. Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked.

First-Time Setup

Power on device; follow initial setup wizard.

  1. Select language: Choose preferred menu language (default: ENGLISH).
  2. Auto-tune channels: Access TV menu to scan for available channels.

Connecting Devices

TV Connection: HDMI recommended, or Component/Composite. Audio System: Digital optical/coaxial to receiver. External Storage: USB for media playback.

  1. Turn off all devices before making connections.
  2. Use appropriate cables for each connection type.
  3. Select correct input on TV and audio receiver.
  4. Power on devices in sequence: TV, Audio System, then RC689D.

Playing DVD Media

Supports various disc formats and USB media.

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE, place disc label side up, close tray.
  2. Play: Press PLAY; use navigation for title/chapter selection.
  3. Special functions: Slow motion, Frame advance, A-B repeat.
  4. Skip: PREV/NEXT for chapters; number keys for direct access.
  5. Search: Fast forward/rewind with variable speeds.
  6. Subtitle/Audio: Change during playback via remote buttons.
  7. Zoom: 2x, 4x magnification with pan capability.
  8. Resume: Automatically continues from last stop point.

WARNING! Do not move device during disc playback. Keep discs clean and free of scratches.
