Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on level floor.

  1. Remove shipping bolts: Use wrench to remove bolts from rear; store for future moves.
  2. Connect water supply: Attach hot and cold water hoses to corresponding valves.
  3. Connect drain hose: Secure to standpipe or sink; use hose clip provided.
  4. Level the machine: Adjust front leveling feet; use spirit level to ensure stability.
  5. Plug into grounded electrical outlet.

WARNING! Do not remove shipping bolts before moving to installation location. Ensure water connections are tight to prevent leaks.

First-Time Setup

Power on washing machine; follow initial setup prompts.

  1. Run initial cycle: Add detergent and run a cleaning cycle without laundry.
  2. Set preferences: Use control panel to set language, default temperature, spin speed.
  3. Connect to SmartThinQ: Download app and follow pairing instructions.

Connecting to SmartThinQ

SmartThinQ allows remote control and monitoring via smartphone.

  1. Download SmartThinQ app from App Store or Google Play.
  2. Create LG account or sign in.
  3. Press and hold Wi-Fi button on control panel for 3 seconds until LED blinks.
  4. Follow app instructions to connect to home Wi-Fi network.
  5. Name your washer for easy identification.

Tip: Ensure smartphone and washer are on same Wi-Fi network during setup.

Using Wash Programs

Select appropriate program for laundry type.

  1. Load laundry: Do not overload; leave space for movement.
  2. Add detergent: Pour into dispenser drawer compartments.
  3. Select program: Turn PROGRAM SELECTOR knob.
  4. Adjust settings: Set temperature, spin speed, and options as needed.
  5. Start: Press START/PAUSE; door locks automatically.
  6. Pause/Add: Press START/PAUSE to pause; door unlocks after a few seconds to add items.
  7. End of cycle: Signal sounds; door unlocks; remove laundry promptly.

WARNING! Do not open door during high-speed spin. Ensure all pockets are empty of objects.

Special Functions

TurboWash™: Reduces cycle time by up to 30 minutes while maintaining cleaning. Steam™ Function: Adds steam phase to remove allergens, odors, and wrinkles. Allergiene Cycle: Uses steam and high-temperature water to reduce allergens. Delay Start: Program wash to finish at desired time.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning. Wipe exterior with damp cloth. Clean detergent dispenser monthly. Run Tub Clean cycle monthly with affresh® tablet or vinegar. Clean drain pump filter every 2-3 months.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners. Keep control panel dry.
