Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface near your TV and audio system.

  1. Connect to TV: Use Component Video cables (preferred) or the supplied AV composite cable (yellow video, red/white audio).
  2. Connect to Audio System: Use optical or coaxial digital audio cable to your receiver for surround sound.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet.
  4. Insert Batteries: Install batteries into the remote control.

WARNING! Ensure proper ventilation; do not block vents. Keep away from heat sources and moisture.

First-Time Setup

Power on the player and your TV. Select the correct input source on your TV (e.g., Component, AV).

  1. Initial Language: The on-screen menu will appear. Select your preferred language using the arrow buttons.
  2. TV Aspect Ratio: Set the screen format (4:3 or 16:9) to match your television.
  3. Audio Output: Configure audio settings (PCM, Bitstream) based on your audio system's capabilities.
  4. Parental Lock: Set a password (default may be 0000) if you wish to restrict content.

Setup Menu: Language, Screen (Aspect Ratio, TV System), Audio (Digital Output, Dynamic Range), Parental Lock, System (Reset). Playback Controls: Use SKIP, SEARCH, REPEAT, ZOOM, and SLOW during playback.

Connecting Devices

TV: Use Component (Y, Pb, Pr) or Composite (yellow video). Audio System: Use Optical or Coaxial digital cable.

  1. Turn off all devices before making connections.
  2. Match cable colors to jacks (Red/Green/Blue for Component; Red/White/Yellow for Composite).
  3. Select the corresponding input source on your TV and audio receiver.

Tip: For best picture quality, use Component Video cables and set the player to Progressive Scan if your TV supports it.

Playing Media

  1. Insert disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE, place disc label-side up, press OPEN/CLOSE again.
  2. Play: Press PLAY; use MENU to navigate disc contents or numeric buttons for direct access.
  3. Stop: Press STOP once to pause; press twice to return to the beginning of the disc.
  4. Skip/Search: Use PREV/NEXT to skip chapters/tracks; use SEARCH left/right for fast scan.
  5. Repeat: Press REPEAT to cycle through chapter, title, track, or all repeat modes.
  6. Zoom: Press ZOOM during playback to magnify the picture (x2, x4, x8).
  7. Slow Motion: Press SLOW for frame-by-frame advance.
  8. Audio/Subtitle: Press AUDIO or SUBTITLE buttons to change language tracks.

WARNING! Do not move the player while a disc is spinning. Do not use damaged or irregularly shaped discs.

Accessibility Features

Subtitle Display: Enable/disable subtitles via the SUBTITLE button. Parental Lock: Restrict playback of DVDs based on ratings in the SETUP menu (set password first).

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the unit before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Clean the lens only with a specialized CD/DVD lens cleaning disc if necessary.
