Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface.

  1. Connect to TV: Use AV cables (composite) or S-Video cable for better quality.
  2. Connect antenna/cable: Connect cable/antenna to ANT IN; connect ANT OUT to TV.
  3. Connect audio system: Use coaxial digital audio output to home theater receiver.
  4. Plug into AC power outlet.

WARNING! Ensure proper ventilation; do not block vents. Keep away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Power on unit; follow on-screen prompts.

  1. Set clock: Press MENU, navigate to SETUP, select CLOCK SETTING.
  2. Program channels: In SETUP menu, select AUTO PROGRAM for VCR tuner.
  3. Set TV type: In SETUP, select TV TYPE (4:3 or 16:9).

Connecting Devices

TV: Composite AV or S-Video. Audio System: Coaxial digital audio. Antenna: Pass-through connection.

  1. Turn off all devices before connecting cables.
  2. Match cable colors to jacks (yellow-video, white-left audio, red-right audio).
  3. Set TV to correct video input (AV1, AV2, etc.).
  4. For best quality, use S-Video or component video connections if available.

Tip: Use high-quality cables for best audio/video performance.

Playing DVD & VHS Media

Supports DVD-Video, VHS tapes.

  1. Insert media: Press EJECT for DVD tray; insert tape into VHS slot.
  2. Play DVD: Press PLAY; use numeric buttons for title/chapter selection.
  3. Play VHS: Insert tape; press PLAY. Use FF/REW for navigation.
  4. Record VHS: Insert blank tape, press RECORD (may need to press PLAY simultaneously).
  5. Special features: Slow motion, frame advance, zoom (DVD only).
  6. Audio options: Select different audio tracks or languages with AUDIO button.
  7. Subtitle: Press SUBTITLE to enable/select subtitles.
  8. Angle: Press ANGLE for multi-angle DVDs.

WARNING! Do not touch laser lens. Keep magnets away from VCR section.

Accessibility Features

Closed Captions: For VHS playback, enable via TV's CC function. Parental Controls: Set movie ratings limits in SETUP menu (password 0000).
