Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface away from heat sources.

  1. Connect antenna or cable: Attach coaxial cable to ANTENNA/CABLE connector on rear.
  2. Connect external devices: Use front AV jacks for video game consoles, camcorders, etc.
  3. Plug into AC power outlet (120V, 60Hz).
  4. Ensure proper ventilation around the TV cabinet.

WARNING! CRT televisions are heavy and contain high voltage. Use caution when moving. Do not open the cabinet.

First-Time Setup

Power on TV using front button or remote; follow on-screen prompts if available.

  1. Program channels: Press MENU, navigate to SETUP or CHANNEL, select AUTO PROGRAM.
  2. Set language: In MENU > SETUP, select preferred language (default may be ENGLISH).
  3. Adjust picture: Use MENU > PICTURE to set contrast, brightness, color, and tint.
  4. Adjust sound: Use MENU > SOUND to set bass, treble, and balance.

CAUTION! Allow at least 4 inches of clearance on all sides for proper ventilation.

Connecting Devices

Antenna/Cable: Rear coaxial connector. External A/V: Front composite video (yellow) and audio (white/red) jacks.

  1. Turn off TV before connecting devices.
  2. For antenna/cable: Connect coaxial cable securely.
  3. For external device: Connect composite video and audio cables to matching colors.
  4. Press INPUT button on front or remote to switch between TV and AV source.

Tip: For best picture quality from external devices, use the AV input instead of routing through a VCR.

Using the TV Tuner

Watch broadcast or cable television.

  1. Ensure antenna or cable is connected.
  2. Press POWER to turn on.
  3. Change channels using CHANNEL +/-, numeric buttons, or CHANNEL UP/DOWN on remote.
  4. Adjust volume using VOLUME +/- or remote.
  5. For stereo broadcasts, ensure MTS is set to STEREO in SOUND menu.
  6. Use SLEEP timer to turn TV off after a set period.
  7. Use RECALL button to display current channel number.

Note: Auto program may not find all channels if signal is weak. Consider a signal amplifier.

Accessibility Features

Closed Captions: Enable via MENU > SETUP > CLOSED CAPTION (CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4, TEXT1-4). MTS/SAP: Access secondary audio programming for descriptive video or alternate language via SOUND menu.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug from outlet before cleaning. Wipe cabinet with soft, dry cloth. For screen, use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water. Do not use chemicals or abrasives.
